Turns out the driver’s side flip-up hatch is becoming my favorite add-on to my OVRLND truck camper. Now that I have things mostly dialed in, I wanted to make sure everyday items would be accessible from here, along with the fridge and Rinksekit Pro water pressure system. Not having to drop the tailgate, open the barn doors, and climb into the camper is absolutely amazing.
Watch this video to see how I’ve organized the side hatch of my truck camper…
Here’s a quick list of items mentioned in the video:
- hats and jackets (hooked to Unistrut)
- Fire extinguisher mounted to unistrut with quickfist
- glasses, chapstick, change, etc. in a pouch velcroed to the inside framing of side hatch.
- Bed platform I installed for holding boots, backpacks, chairs, boogie boards, etc.
- Rinsekit pro hiding under bed platform
- portable camping fridge
- catch-all area for axe, shovel, leveling blocks, football, frisbee, etc.
- Fan remote holder mounted with velcro on the internal framing
- camping headlamps hanging from hooks
- battery operated lantern for lighting up fridge and hatch area

That’s a heck of a lot of stuff that I can access from my truck camper side hatch. For me access to the fridge is huge. I can load up food easily from the house or grab a cold snack/drink when I’m on the road. Having a way to swap my work boots for flip flops makes me smile every time.
Having a truck camper is all about making my life easier and setting it up just how I want it has been lots of fun.
Happy Camping!
