I’ll try to make this ramble short and sweet. I feel like I’m in a unique position in the camper world where people either live in their campers and are always on the road or they use their campers for once or twice a month trips. My case is a little different.
I’m in my OVRLND for 1-2 hours daily during my lunch breaks at work and before work to get ready. Sometimes in the evenings my wife and I are relaxing in the camper when the kids are at their sporting events. And since I don’t have an office at home I often head into the camper (parked in the driveway) when I need to get work done on the computer without distractions. One of the kids inevitably come hang out with my in the driveway and I love their company.
This weekend my daughter has soccer practice on Friday night and Saturday is their “opening day” where we’ll be at the park from around 9am to 2pm. My OVRLND truck camper + first gen Tundra (aka Razor Crest) will serve as a great mobile basecamp for us to hang out, get a break from the sun, eat some food, or just relax while the kids play. Having a fridge, toilet, sink, electrical power, board games, and all my related camping items make these days so enjoyable.
Three of us hanging out in the truck camper while my daughter is in Juijitsu training.
You should read my post “What’s in my truck camper” to see how all of these items helps our daily lifestyle — besides camping trips.
The Kammock Crosswing retractable awning on the back of my truck extends our hangout space so we don’t all have to cram inside to get relief from the sun.
The Camp Chef Sherpa Table Organizer keeps most of my items including toiletries, camp gear, medical supplies, and kitchen supplies tidy and organized.
The Rinsekit Pro water pressure system lets me hose off mud and dirt from my filthy children before heading home. And of course everything is powered by my Anker Solix C1000 portable power station.
I seriously can’t recommend this setup enough for active busy families looking for a vehicle/camper platform to help their daily lives.
As I wrote about earlier… my truck camper is not just for camping!
Happy trails everyone!
